Relating to the types of plan & eligibility

No, you are unable to as travel insurance has to be activated before your departure from Thailand on your Cathay Pacific or Dragonair Flight.

Yes, you are able to purchase a one-way plan. However, you will be charged premium equivalent to a 4-day trip, and the cover will cease once you arrive at your new country of residence or employment.

For "Individual" Plan:

a. You must be a Thailand Resident or an Inbound Traveller of at least 18 years of age on the Effective Date

b. Each of Your Dependant Child(ren) must be wholly dependent on You for financial support and be:

  1. 2 years and over and under 18 years of age, and residing in Your household, or;
  2. unemployed and under 23 years if studying as a full-time student at a recognised school, college or university.

c. Each of Your Infant(s) must be wholly dependent on You for financial support and be over 6 months old and under 2 years of age, and residing in Your household.

Relating to medical cover

A medical examination is not required, however, do note that any pre-existing medical conditions are not covered.

A "pre-existing condition" means any medical condition from which the Insured suffered, or should have been aware that he was suffering, within a 12 months period before the effective date of this policy.

No, the policy does not cover any pregnancy-related issues other than accidental miscarriage.

Yes, dental treatment is covered so long it is a result of an accidental injury. Dentures are not covered.

No. You have to seek medical treatment overseas only. The follow up treatment in Thailand is not covered.

Relating to baggage cover

No, this plan covers loss or damage of property due to robbery or theft only.

No, the amount of baggage cover cannot be increased.

No, Chubb does not cover any hired or leased equipment. The item must belong to the Insured Person and be carried on this person or be checked in luggage. For certain items such as watches and laptops, it must be carried with him when he is boarding and alighting from his flights. Please refer to "Personal Property and Baggage" for items covered under the policy.

Yes, Personal Property includes purchases made overseas. Please refer to Personal Baggage, Property Not Covered in the policy wording.

This plan will pay THB 5,000 for every six full consecutive hours of delay, up to the maximum benefit amount specified in your Certificate of Insurance. 

No, it would not as unaccompanied baggage is not covered.

Relating to trip cancellation

This Policy does not cover this circumstance. The policy excludes any claims relating to prohibitions or regulations by any government, and any subsequent Trip Cancellation or trip change claims related to this cause is not covered.

Yes, if the event occurs within seven (7) days before the Scheduled Departure Date and such claim are accompanied with travel advice from the relevant authority/ authorities.

"Specified Cause" means

  1. The Insured Person or his or her family member dies or suffers serious injury or sickness, which is confirmed as life-threatening by a medical practitioner
  2. Unexpected strike or riot that is beyond the control of the Insured Person
  3. The permanent residence of the Insured Person is lost or damaged because of a Natural Disaster that occurs within 1 week before the departure date
  4. The Insured Person receives a summons to give testimony in court as a witness during the planned period of the trip, or is served a warrant by the court

This coverage is effective only if the policy is purchased before You become aware of any circumstances, which could lead to the disruption of the planned Journey

Yes, you are covered on the way to and from the airport once your policy is enforce.
