COVID-19 Extension in round trip plans covers Medical Expenses, Emergency Medical Evacuation and/or Repatriation, Trip Cancellation, Trip Curtailment and Return of Mortal Remains.

The sum insured of COVID-19 Extension benefits vary based on trip type and plan type. For one-way plans, the ONLY benefit available is Trip Cancellation.

Note: Insured Persons who are eligible for COVID-19 Extension must be aged eighty (80) or below on the date of diagnosis of COVID-19. Maximum trip duration of COVID-19 Extension is thirty (30) days from journey departure date.

Relating to medical cover

A medical examination is not required, however, do note that any pre-existing medical conditions are not covered.

A "pre-existing condition" means any medical condition from which the Insured suffered, or should have been aware that he was suffering, within a 12 months period before the effective date of this policy.

Yes, dental treatment is covered so long it is a result of an accidental injury. Dentures are not covered.

No. You have to seek medical treatment overseas in order for you to follow-up with your treatment upon your return to Malaysia. Follow-up treatment in Malaysia must be sought within 30 days upon your return.

Relating to baggage cover

Yes, You have to report the damage immediately on discovery and submit proof of compensation from the airline or service provider or proof of denial - where such compensation has been denied. This Policy will only reimburse for the amount that is not recoverable from the airline or service provider concerned.

No, the amount of baggage cover cannot be increased.

No, Chubb does not cover any hired or leased equipment. The item must belong to the Insured Person and be carried on this person. For certain items such as watches and laptops, it must be carried with him when he is boarding and alighting from his flights. Please refer to "Personal Property and Baggage" for items covered under the policy.

Yes, Personal Property includes purchases made overseas. Please refer to Personal Baggage, Property Not Covered in the policy wording.

This plan will pay RM200 for every six full consecutive hours of delay, up to the maximum benefit amount specified in the Policy Wording.

Relating to sports and sporting equipment

Yes, Personal Property includes sporting equipment brought by the Insured Person or purchased during the trip. In addition, Chubb also extends additional cover for golfing equipment.

This policy excludes certain activities such as extreme sports, including triathlons and ultra- marathons. Please refer to General Exclusions for the exclusions list.

Relating to trip cancellation

This Policy does not cover this circumstance. The policy excludes any claims relating to prohibitions or regulations by any government, and any subsequent Trip Cancellation or trip change claims related to this cause is not covered.

Yes, if the event occurs within fourteen (14) days before the Scheduled Departure Date and such claim are accompanied with travel advice from the relevant authority/ authorities.

"Specified Cause" means

  1. Your death;
  2. You sustaining Bodily Injury or suffering from a Sickness, which in the opinion of a Physician causes You to be unfit to travel on a Scheduled Departure Date;
  3. the death of a Family Member or Travel Companion before the Scheduled Departure Date;
  4. Bodily Injury or Sickness of a Family Member or Travel Companion necessitating him/her to be Confined to a Hospital;
  5. You are or required to be in compulsory quarantine, or jury service, or are subpoenaed or hijacked;
  6. cancellation of scheduled Common Carrier services consequent upon Strike, Riot or Civil Commotion which is beyond Your control at the planned Destination;
  7. Your residence becoming uninhabitable following fire, storm, or flood occurring such that Your presence is required on the premises on the Scheduled Departure Date;
  8. due to natural disasters (such as typhoon, earthquake, hurricane or tsunami) at destination country which prevent You from commencing the Journey.

Whereby, in the context of cancellation of a Journey :

  1. for paragraph ii., the event mentioned must occur within sixty (60) days before the Scheduled Departure Date; and
  2. for paragraphs iii. to viii., the respective events mentioned must occur within fourteen (14) days before the Scheduled Departure Date and must be accompanied with travel advice from relevant authority(s).

This coverage is effective only if the policy is purchased before You become aware of any circumstances, which could lead to the disruption of the planned Journey
